Why does stainless steel hinge rust?

Many customers believe that stainless steel will not rust. In fact, this is wrong. The meaning of stainless steel is that it is not easy to rust. You must not mistakenly think that stainless steel is permanently non-rusting, unless 100% gold is not rusty. Common causes of rust: vinegar, glue, pesticides, detergent, etc., all easily cause rust.

The principle of resistance to rust: stainless steel contains chromium and nickel, which is the key to corrosion and rust prevention. This is why our cold-rolled steel hinges are surface treated with nickel plating. The nickel content of 304 reaches 8-10%, the chromium content is 18-20%, and the nickel content of 301 is 3.5-5.5%, so 304 has a stronger anti-corrosion ability than 201.

Real rust and fake rust: Use tools or screwdrivers to scrape off the rusty surface, and still expose the smooth surface. Then this is fake stainless steel, and it can still be used with relative treatment. If you scrape the rusty surface and reveal small recessed pits, then this is really rusty.
