Broad Space For Multi-party Cooperation Between China, Europe And Africa(2)

In recent years, some third-party cooperation projects that integrate the wisdom and experience of China and Europe have strongly promoted the sustainable development of Africa. Taking Cameroon’s Kribi Deepwater Port as an example, China Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. (China Harbour Corporation), as the general contractor, will set up companies to jointly operate container terminals with France and Cameroon after the completion of the deepwater port project. This deep-water port has filled the gap in Cameroon’s transit container business. Now the city and population of Kribi are expanding, processing plants have been established one after another, supporting services have been put in place one after another, and it is expected to become a new economic growth point for Cameroon.

Elvis Ngol Ngol, a professor at the Second University of Yaoundé in Cameroon, said that the Kribi deep-water port is vital to the future development of Cameroon and the region, and it is also a model project for China-EU cooperation to help Africa improve development efficiency. Africa needs development partners more than ever before to achieve recovery from the epidemic as soon as possible, and such tripartite cooperation should be encouraged.

Some industry insiders believe that China and the EU are highly complementary in economic and trade cooperation in Africa. China has accumulated a lot of experience in the field of infrastructure construction, while European countries have a long history of exchanges with Africa, and they have experience and advantages in areas such as sustainable economic development.
